Comment on the data in the table and give your personal opinion on the subject of the project.

The importance of humanities cannot be denied. My current project is aimed at finding out what the most popular disciplines of humanities among students in Zetland are. I have found some data presented in the form of the table on the subject — the results of the opinion pool. As the part of my project I am going to analyse statistics and present my findings.

According to the data, one of the most significant fact is that the majority of the respondents (31%) has stated that the most popular discipline of humanities among students in Zetland is Native language. The other interesting fact is that the minority of the respondents (5%) has stated History.

It can be seen from the data that the percentage of popularity of Native language among the respondents is about 6 times higher as compared with popularity of History. Another striking feature is the low popularity of History. It is the lowest as compared the disciplines stated in the table. The information given in the table clearly illustrates the high popularity of Native language and low popularity of History among humanities in Zetland student environment.

Analysing the data of the opinion poll I can see a problem that may arise. It is a problem of poor knowledge of History of students in Zetland. Nevertheless, I consider that there is a possible solution to the problem. From my point of view it consists of increasing the number of classroom and extracurricular hours for studying History.

To conclude, I am convinced that the role and importance of humanities for students in Zetland cannot be overestimated because the disciplines form scientific outlook and complete picture of the world. Especially, I would like to stress the role of History:»History is Philosophy in examples.»
